Kid Fit and Youth Strength Programs

Heritage Park Fitness is now an Approved provider for the Killeen Independent School District’s Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE) Program.

The Heritage Park Fitness Center “Kid Fit” and “Youth Strength” programs are designed to educate our youth in the importance of being physically active trough various types of Physical Fitness activities and making healthier food choices through basic nutrition education. Our programs is based upon the American Council on Exercise “Operation Fit Kids” curriculum which consists of seven complete lesson plans designed to educate our youth in the specific areas of Fitness and Nutrition. These lessons can be tailored to fit children of all age groups. External knowledge is also utilized in the “Kid Fit” and, “Youth Strength” programs by the Heritage Park Fitness Professionals that have obtained Bachelors Degrees and/or Fitness certification in the Fitness and Health profession.

Throughout the program, some of the components of both Skill Related Fitness: Agility; Balance Coordination; Power; Reaction Time; and Speed and Health Related Fitness: Muscular Strength and Endurance; Flexibility Cardiovascular Endurance; and Body Composition will be implemented through effective yet fun physical activates . The Food Guide Pyramid will also be utilized to provide guidelines and valuable information about healthy eating.
